The next match in our fixture list saw LGC head to East Anglia for back-to-back matches against Royal Worlington & Newmarket G.C. and Aldeburgh G.C. The forecast heavy downpours and thundery showers never materialised, thankfully, and the team enjoyed three rounds of golf and two al fresco meals over two days. LGC lost to Royal Worlington on day one (2-3), and after a very enjoyable dinner that evening, found themselves trailing to Aldeburgh at lunchtime the following day. However, refreshed by a good lunch, Lloyd’s came storming home in the afternoon with an overall win (5.5-4.5) for the day. This was despite one LGC member – playing Aldeburgh for the first time – causing mirth when he massively overshot two greens in a row only to find he was looking at the wrong holes on his rangefinder device!
