Old Etonian G.S

June also saw LGC face the Old Etonian G.S. at Royal West Norfolk G.C. (Brancaster) for what turned out to be a challenging match in very hot weather.   LGC turned out a solid team and were in good spirits following a convincing victory in 2019 but were firmly routed by the strength of the opposition.  This fixture comprises two rounds on Monday and one on Tuesday.   Notwithstanding some strong individual performances, Monday saw both morning and afternoon matches go 3:1 in the OEGS’s favour, with the deficit slipping further on the Tuesday (4-0) to conclude the match with a 10-2 loss for Lloyd’s.   Despite this disappointing result, the team enjoyed the warm welcome of RWNGC, some good-hearted competition and the chance to play an outstanding course in fantastic condition.  Better luck next year!
