Back to Golf

Dear Members,

– Matches resume 21 April
– New date for Spring Meeting: 30 June
– Revised Privacy Notice

I hope everyone is keeping well. As we are now allowed to return to our golf courses – hurrah! – I am delighted to let you have some information regarding the start of our golfing year.

As you will know, between 12 April and 16 May, we are able to go ahead with our matches, but will be limited by a) the rule of six and b) outdoor hospitality only. So whilst we can play, our ability to socialise will be necessarily limited as will the catering arrangements. However, I am pleased to confirm that our matches against Royal Ashdown Forest G.C. (21/4), London Solicitors G.S. (29/4) and Royal Worlington & Newmarket G.C (16/5) are all currently planned to go ahead, albeit with some modifications. If you would like to play in these fixtures, please contact the Match Managers for more details. However, please note that the Lucifer match (6/5) has been cancelled.

Given the restrictions, we have decided to reschedule our Spring Meeting, which will now take place on Wednesday 30 June at Walton Heath G.C. We recognise that this date is close to our Summer Meeting, however the meetings are different in format and capacity and the Committee felt that there would likely be sufficiently strong demand for both events. James MacNaughton, our Spring Meeting Secretary will be sending out details shortly.

From 17 May to 20 June, we will be permitted to meet in groups of six indoors (and 30 outdoors) which means that many of our matches will be able to take place in conditions closer to our usual format. And, all being well, from 21 June it will be back to golfing ‘business as usual’.

The website has been updated to reflect this information. Please do sign up for matches using the website functionality as this is very helpful to our Match Managers.

On the administrative front, please be advised that the Club’s privacy notice has been updated to reflect better how we manage your personal data. The revised statement is shown below and is available via our website.
